In 2021, Andrew Huck led a Scouts BSA Eagle Scout project that focused on refurbishing over 50 computers to support families in need across the Las Vegas valley during the COVID-19 pandemic. His initiative provided crucial technology to students from All Saints Episcopal Church, ensuring they had the tools needed for remote learning. Additionally, computers donated to The Immigrant Home Foundation were aimed at empowering the community through education.

The success of this project was made possible through the collaboration of local businesses, volunteers, and fellow Scouts. Donated equipment from Knit Studios, Hall Jaffe Clayton, LLP, and Integrita Systems played a critical role, and nearly $1,000 was raised from the community and local organizations like Lions Club International to fund essential hardware upgrades such as solid-state drives (SSDs), wireless network adapters, and webcams.

In total, 38 volunteers dedicated close to 150 hours to refurbishing and packaging the computers, which included a keyboard, mouse, monitor, webcam, and necessary cables. With the support of Rolando Velasquez from Lions Clubs of Nevada District 46, Andrew successfully placed these computers with over 40 families in need. Special thanks to Rolando A. (Alex) Velasquez for capturing the event's memorable moments, highlighting the significant impact of this effort.

This project was a true testament to the power of community, and Andrew extends heartfelt thanks to the local businesses, volunteers, and Scouts who made it all possible.
